Cheer me up!

What is "Cheer Me Up?"

This section was created selfishly for my own benefit. I found I needed a collection of high quality comedy that would keep on giving after the first couple of times. Sure you can go to Reddit and find funny things. For me it's all about the momentum of seeing a string a high quality laughs back-to-back. It' like medicine to view your own customized humor feed when you're feeling down.

Cheer Me Up!

I've spent the whole week trying to put social network icons all over client sites. It's really depressing to see how all these people think FaceBook is marketing gold.

If you fill a room full of people and they are all talking, it's just noise.

Anyway, I thought about my favorite show, "The IT Crowd" and the "FriendFace" episode.

Cheer Me Up!

Oh how modern society has me fascinated.

I often fight to be able to express myself (you think?). Aspergers has me pounding the keyboard to find a gem stone from Google images that can say what I feel.

This particular night I had been fighting a web site launch deadline for hours on end. I had to fix a bad module and thought that it would take a good bit of time but somehow everything came into focus and I finished in 1/2 hour.

It's photo albums like this (original source) that make the internet wonderful. The back story is that somebody met Serj on Chat Roulette and struck up a good friendship (I know right?). The photos give you this poignant look into bleak Mother Russia and yet his cheerful captions in broken English give you a sense of optimistic hope.

I pulled some of my favorites and added them below.

Cheer Me Up!

I've just spent most of my day answering calls for tech support even though I'm supposed to be developing web sites. I'm so thankful for "The IT crowd" for giving me the comical relief I need from my sometimes horrible job.

I love the very end of the video:

[Startled Scream]

Then apoligetic, Jen says, "I just won a hundred quid." as she waves her hands.

Cheer Me Up!

This video makes me laugh mostly but deep down my soul kind of hurts. What the hell has our news become? Any well researched journalism went out the window when CNN came online in the mid 90's. Now that everybody does "24-hour news" it's too hard to fill the day with decent content so you have to make bullshit up.

Cheer Me Up!

I think this is my second favorite clip from "The Onion" next to "Car Accident Tragically Not Glen Beck". By watching this, I can finally release all my frustration of working with electronics that don't ever work the way they should.

I still use the phrase "Time Vampire" to this day. I heard it first in this clip.

Cheer Me Up!

Reddit.com is a self reflective beast at times. I suppose that's why I love it so.

On November 18th, 2011 there appeared to be two posts to the tune of "I found this cat on the highway after somebody threw him out." This set off a fire storm of posts.

Cheer Me Up!

Despite the low budget filming I was laughing my ass off watching this. It goes from boring to exhilerating in six minutes.

I've advanced to video to the good part but you can watch the whole thing for a longer buildup.

It comes from the StaplerFahrerKlaus.de (Forklift driver Klaus) web site.

Cheer Me Up!

The original source said the notice was found right next to a chuch. Oh well...free country and all. At least it was hand written and we were spared the photographs.

Cheer Me Up!

No, not an especially complex super power but useful nontheless.  Think about how smooth society would run without buckets of bullshit.
