The 2010 Square Foot Garden

This garden gallery is  from my square foot garden in 2010. It was my first year doing it. I started with the tandam garden with the flower box center. Then later in the year I created S.F. Garden 2 and S.F Garden 3.

For anyone neverous about getting into gardening, this is the way to go. It's super simple and takes very little effort. Each day we went out to visit the garden was a boost to the soul. . . . .until October when everything died and turned black.

Cut and Come Again Lettuce

I had read in the Square Foot Garden book that you can cut your lettuce down and it will grow back. I wasn't sure exactly how to do this so I searched for a good video on it. This one is a real hoot because the guy is trying to be serious and the dog keeps screwing with him.

Square Foot Gardening

It's our first year in our house. After renting for all my life I was fired up about finally having my own garden. My mom had given me some books on gardening and one struck my fancy. It's all about this technique of gardening in little square foot blocks.

You can find the book by  Mel Bartholomew at Amazon. The idea is a good one. You concentrate more on a small space and only eat what you need.
