I came across this article which did a good job at outlining the stark contrast between the richest 1 percent of Americans in this country compared to the rest of us.

As the Occupy Wall Street movement moves into it's third week, it's a bit disappointing to see that main stream media has still been reluctant to cover the story. You can't be surprised though. Unlike the Tea Party who is most certainly controlled by the GOP, the OWS group is much harder to control and manipulate. Protestors on Wall Street are much younger and internet savvy. They have a tendency to adapt new technologies to gather support for the protest. 

Every day that passes and I hear more shameless propaganda pump out of the Fox News machine, I get a bit sicker. I think it hits so close to home because a couple relatives are caught up in it so much that critical thought and self accountability have flown out the window.

In a concentrated effort to practice what I preach about "reading news from several different sources", I did more research on the Tea Party this morning after a surprisingly civil, reasonable and effective conversation with my Dad, a staunch conservative Republican.
