I thought this was surely from The Onion but after close inspection it's actually a real guy on C-Span. The political satirist Vermin Supreme even has his own wiki. He wears his trademark boot hat and carries a large toothbrush as he participates in real election debates.

May every American have a free pony!

I came across this article which did a good job at outlining the stark contrast between the richest 1 percent of Americans in this country compared to the rest of us.

I've been awfully proud of these protestors that have taken over Wall Street in New York. This younger generation is beginning to see through the absurd horse-shit charade of our "corporate controlled news and government".

As the Occupy Wall Street movement moves into it's third week, it's a bit disappointing to see that main stream media has still been reluctant to cover the story. You can't be surprised though. Unlike the Tea Party who is most certainly controlled by the GOP, the OWS group is much harder to control and manipulate. Protestors on Wall Street are much younger and internet savvy. They have a tendency to adapt new technologies to gather support for the protest.

I love reading the headlines each day. It's like a daily exercise of my brain. Still, it never ceases to amaze me how idiotic most of the economic news stories are. Every week you'll hear about some new plan by goverment to create more jobs and "bring us into the future" yada yada yada. Other days you'll get a little sprinkle of horseshit from aimless angry mobs like the Tea Party.

Every day that passes and I hear more shameless propaganda pump out of the Fox News machine, I get a bit sicker. I think it hits so close to home because a couple relatives are caught up in it so much that critical thought and self accountability have flown out the window.

Just a short video I did about the "Is that right?" response that you should learn. It can be the standard response to those who are bat-shit crazy and can't think for themselves. Seriously, does arguing with a Fox News Disciple do anything more than waste your time?

In a concentrated effort to practice what I preach about "reading news from several different sources", I did more research on the Tea Party this morning after a surprisingly civil, reasonable and effective conversation with my Dad, a staunch conservative Republican.

I often feel like I've lost my Dad to the Fox News propaganda machine. It has become apparent that I may be losing another family member as time goes on.

I loved Obama's press meeting last week. The man is cool under pressure, cracking jokes and calling out those who ask stupid questions. Past presidents just give you a long string of "no comment" lines.

Our 24 news networks have turned news into idiocy this past decade. The networks have us expecting answers, dialog and opinions every hour of every day, and sometimes you can't have it like that. Sometimes, you have to gather more information and make tough decisions. Sometimes a quality news report takes the whole day to put together.
